Jump Into this Banned X-Box 360 Commercial

This commercial begins with two people in what appears to be a crowded mall walking towards each other, sizing each other up. One of the two people pretends to pull a gun on the other, only to have the other act like he’s drawing two guns on the first person “gangsta style”. A moment later, everyone (and I do mean everyone) else starts doing the same thing, resulting in what appears to be a re-enactment of a Mexican standoff.

After a minute or so, one of the two main actors shouts “BANG!”, which leads the other guy to fall to the ground as if he had actually been shot. Everyone else joins in on the act, “shooting“ each other in a comically desperate struggle for survival. As they all start dropping like flies, a janitor is seen walking out of a nearby service entrance holding a mop. He takes a quick look and dashes back from where he came. A woman is then seen “throwing a grenade” while others continue “shooting” at each other, followed by someone “shooting a shotgun” at a cab driver.

The driver tells the gunman to wait by holding a finger up in the air so he can finish his phone call, then puts the phone away and slumps over the steering wheel. There’s a lot more going on of course, but you would never think this was advertising the Microsoft X-Box 360 console system…

It’s commercials like this that make me wonder what Microsoft could have done if only they had chosen to invest in actually reaching out to people instead of only appearing to, you know?
